BEAR LAKE – The state’s No. 5-ranked Division 4 team, Baldwin (16-0, 19-1), won the WMD Conference title outright on Friday with at 52-28 win over Bear Lake (6-11, 8-13).

Baldwin had quarter leads of 10-5, 23-8 and  41-11.

“We had a slow start, but then we went on a 35-6 run between the end of the first quarter and third,” Baldwin coach JJ Eads said. “We didn’t shoot the ball well but stepped up defensively. We haven’t practiced since Tuesday.”

Carmelo Lindsey had 13 points while David Lee had 10 and Chance Dockery nine.

The Brethren-Baldwin game snowed out earlier last week will not be made up, Eads said.

Baldwin ends the regular season on Thursday at home with Pentwater.
