Williams set to spark Baldwin football team
BALDWIN — Davon Williams is among the freshmen who will be on the roster for Baldwin football this season
Williams played junior high football in the past and is set for his first varsity football season. It started officially on Monday with practices.
“We talked about the rules and things like that,” he said. “I like everything about football. I like the contact, especially.”
As a running back, Williams feels he has the ability to fake out the defender and take the ball a long way. He’s known for being good off his feet.
Williams also plays linebacker on defense and takes pride in his speed and pursuit to the ball.
The team is scheduled to have its first game on Saturday, Aug. 25, against Camden-Frontier at Okemos High School. This game will be followed by home contests on Aug. 31 with Bear Lake and on Sept. 7 with Mesick.
