Williams having strong bowling season

BALDWIN — DeMarko Williams has been among the reasons the Baldwin boys bowling team continues to have so much success this season.

“We’re a stacked team,” said Williams, a sophomore, in his second year of bowling. “I’ve improved a lot. I have a lot more patience.”

Williams said he hasn’t actually changed his techniques but is still bowling the same way.

“Darrin (Thomas) and (Kendall) Phillips have improved a lot,” Williams said. “Ryan (Kolenbrander) is more or less the same.”

The Panthers are continuing to focus on the conference portion of the schedule with matches at The Gate in Big Rapids, Country Lanes in Scottville and the Baldwin Bowling Center.

The team continues to stay busy  between meets. Williams is hopeful the team can reach a peak by late February when it’s time to compete in regionals and try to qualify for the state finals.

“We practice three times a week,” Williams said.

Williams is among the top sophomore athletes in Baldwin’s class. He also plays baseball during the spring.
