BALDWIN — Brad Taylor is ready to be the consistent, productive offensive weapon the Baldwin Panthers look to have this season.

Taylor and the Panthers are in her second week of practices. They open the season on Aug. 25 at Camden-Frontier.

Last season, Baldwin was 3-6 in its first year of 8-player football. Taylor, a fullback, enjoyed varsity football.

“It went well for my first year playing the position,” Taylor said. “We got used to playing 8-man football.

As a running back, “I’m better going up the middle, crashing through the line. I find a hole and I hit it quick,” he said.

The Panthers were scheduled to start working on their defense during Tuesday’s practice. Taylor is set to play defensive end.

“I have to try to get to the quarterback,” he said.

The key for the Panthers to have success, Taylor said, is “they have to keep their heads in the game.”
