Sportsman club plans special event for June

BALDWIN – The Lake County Sportsman Club is asking sportsmen to mark down June 5, 2021, for a very special event.

It will be the club’s first annual 3-gun shoot at the clubgrounds, located on Mckinley road, east of Baldwin. The four events will be a 100-yard long gun shoot, a 10-yard pistol shot, a 5-clay pigeon shotgun shoot and a chance to enter all three events for a separate score and cash prize.

The entry fees are $10 for each event plus $10 for entering all three events. The cash purse is each event’s income and is awarded independently.

Registration will be from 11 a.m. to noon that day and shooting is 12:30 p.m. until completion.

For the long gun shoot, any caliber gun can be used. Each participant gets a target, each shooter gets five shots and target gets scorer and there’s a total maximum of 50 points.

The pistol shoot has the same rules. The bullet hole must be fully in higher number to qualify for their number. Shooters supply their own ammo.

For the shotgun shoot, each shooter gets five clay pigeons which the club supplies. Each pigeon hit is 10 points. There are 50 total points for the event.

Onsite food service will be provided.
