BALDWIN – The season continues for Baldwin’s volleyball team, which will be at Pentwater on Thursday to open the West Michigan D League season.

Also this week, the Lakeview JV Invitational is on Saturday. Baldwin will be at Marion on Sept 15 and has its next home match on Sept. 20 against Manistee Catholic Central.

Among the key seniors for the Panthers is Aariona Burrell. It’s her fourth season of volleyball.

“We played pretty good, we just have to talk more,” she said after her team’s first loss of the season against White Cloud.

Burrell plays all-around and said her best role is serving.

The key in being a good server “is taking your time and not letting the whistle affect you. I could do better at serving, attacking and other things. I’ve improved in serving and pretty much everything.”

As team, “we lost a lot from last year but have pretty much everyone back,” Burrell said.
