BALDWIN — Baldwin’s girls bowling team has had a strong season and Shay Scott has been contributing to that effort.

Scott is in her senior season. It’s her first year of bowling.

“As a senior, I decided I wanted to play as many sports as possible,” she said. “I’ve played volleyball, I played bowling, track and softball. Bowling takes a different type of concentration. It’s a very mental sport whereas other sports are physical. It’s something I’m loving to learn.”

To say Scott has improved would be an understatement.

“I went from not breaking 100 to breaking 100 every time,” Scott said, adding the key to being a good bowler is “focus and concentration. The girls are doing well. We come out there and get a ‘W’ everytime. We’ve been doing well.”

Conference and regional meets are on the schedule in upcoming weeks.

“I want to get my average up, that’s all that matters,” she said. “The important thing is trying to get your pickups. The girls are a lot of fun to be with. They’re very supportive. It’s a fun sport.”
