McBain 3, Pine River 2

MCBAIN -- Pine River lost to McBain on Oct. 29, 23-25, 22-25, 25-21, 25-19, 17-19

Emma Whitley paced the Bucks with 28 kills and 10 digs.

"Emma Whitley broke our school record in career kills tonight," coach Jana Dennis said. "The record was 1,038. Emma needed 12 to beat it and more than doubled that number. Pine River volleyball is super proud of her accomplishment."

Cayla Trowbridge added seven kills and 14 digs.

Parker Moores added 14 digs.

Sophie Johnson has 49 assists and led the team in digs with 18.

"Tonight was a battle," Dennis said. "We fought hard the entire night. Just when we thought we had an edge McBain would come back. Being down two games we knew we had to battle and battle we did. A few too many errors on our side was the difference in us winning and us coming up on the losing end. Now it's time to take everything we've learned this season and apply it to districts."
