BALDWIN — Baldwin volleyball coach Duane Roberts is anxious to get his team on the court to start the regular season.

Practices resume Tuesday after several days off because of storm-related damage to the area.

Roberts is anticipating seven players on both the varsity team and trying to add more to both squads. He’s currently serving as JV interim coach.

Storm damage from last week turned the Baldwin gym into an emergency shelter and Roberts was among the coordinators. But the gym was not available for practice. On Tuesday, the team was able to return to practice.

“We couldn’t go outside either (last week) with the rain and thunder,” Roberts said.

Baldwin was set to open Thursday at Marion. Roberts anticipates the match will be at Marion later in the season. A home match is set with Manistee Catholic on Sept. 13.
