WALKERVILLE -- The Baldwin boys hoops squad cruised to a large win over Walkerville with a 75-38 verdict at home on Friday.

Baldwin led 21-10 after the first quarter and 38-15 at halflime. It was 65-27 after the third quarter.

Baldwin was outscored 11-10 in the fourth but still enjoyed a huge margin of victory.

"We had a big run in the second quarter to claim a big lead at the half," Baldwin coach JJ Eads said. "We were able to turn them over and create scoring opportunities."

Leading scorers for Baldwin were Carmelo Lindsey (22), Lavonte Palmer (14), Dexter Hossler (10), Dylan Hibma (10) and Leonard McNeely (9).

Baldwin has a 9-5 record overall which is tripled the win total from last season.

Baldwin is 8-5 in the West Michigan D league and was at Mason County Eastern on Wednesday in a "tough league matchup,' Eads said.

Baldwin is at Mesick on Friday and has home games Monday with Charlton Heston and Tuesday with Manistee Catholic Central, on Feb. 28 with Brethren and on March 5 with Bear Lake.
