BALDWIN - Baldwin girls track and field coach Scott Pedigo was working at getting the numbers up during practices last week.

The season was scheduled to start with a West Michigan D League jamboree on Wednesday of this week.

Pedigo got practices started last week with three girls. The meets were going to be at Brethren this week and Marion next week. The regional will be later this month. Pedigo noted it's been a challenge for scheduling because of a shortage of officials.

Pedigo and Bob Watkins have been coaching the high school track team for several years. Nate Fricke is coaching the junior high team.

There was not a track season last year because of COVID.

The Panthers will be competing as individuals in various events against other West Michigan D League schools including Marion, Brethren, Bear Lake, Pentwater, Walkerville, Mesick and Manistee Catholic Central, plus Mason County Eastern.
