BALDWIN - Ian Lemieux will be among the Baldwin football players returning next season.

Lemieux and his teammates were playing touch football at the field on Monday after ending their season at 2-7.

Lemieux was a linebacker on defense and guard on offense.

"We're getting ready for next season and staying in shape," he said. "We want to get stronger in the offseason."

Lemieux has played football since the seventh grade.

Last season, Baldwin was 0-9 and forfeited a few games for lack of numbers. This year, Baldwin had a full team all nine games and was 2-7.

The Panthers beat Crossroads for the Top Cat trophy. The program took a step forward, Lemieux agreed.

A 4-5 or 5-4 record could put the 2020 Baldwin team into the playoffs

"We need to bond more as a team and get our teamwork up and get ready for next season," Lemieux said. "I feel we can make the playoffs next season. (More numbers) are extremely important. We're thinking of having a JV team next year."
