Mooney continues to excel in bowling and basketball

BALDWIN — Baldwin senior Nicole Mooney continues to have a strong two-sport season for Baldwin,

Mooney is on the girls basketball and bowling teams. Her bowling team has been having success since the season started and topped Mason County Central last Saturday.

“We’ve been doing all right, “Mooney said last week. “We haven’t been doing as well as we have early in the season.”

Mooney has been among the Panthers’ top bowlers this season.

“I haven’t been doing as well as I was in the beginning,” Mooney said, adding when it comes to doing two sports, “I’m kind of used to it because I’ve done it before. It’s really time consuming. If I have a basketball game the day before a bowling game, I’ll be sore all day.”

Mooney has been a key player for the basketball season and was happy to see fellow senior Makayla George return to action last week after being out all season.

“It’s really, really good, she’s one of our more experienced players,” Mooney said.

“That will really help us.”

Baldwin bowls at Ludington’s Country Lanes on Saturday.
