BALDWIN — Derek Mock is a sophomore playing a key role for Baldwin’s football team.

He’s a wide receiver for Baldwin and also played last season.

“It’s been going good,” Mock said. “We don’t have many juniors or seniors with us.”

This factor has made it tough for the Panthers, who are 0-5. But Mock said he’s improved since the season started. He indicated he has capable hands.

Mock has been playing defensive cornerback and indicated “tackling low” is the key to stopping opposing defenses.

Baldwin plays on Friday at Crossroads.

“We have to play well and work as a team,” he said. Mock indicated the team needs to show steady improvement.
