Baldwin off to good start

BALDWIN – It was a nail biter right until the end on Monday but the Baldwin junior high boys won 29-21.

With two minutes left, Baldwin was down 21-20 to Brethren when Kyrce Cook came off the bench and hit a game changing three 3-pointer, putting the Panthers up 23-21. Pierre Johnson hit the next two points finishing up with the game high of 13 points. Chance Dockery hit two critical free throws and Marcus Martin wound up the victory hitting the last two points right at the buzzer.

The Middle School boys basketball team plays their next game Monday, Nov. 29 at Mesick at 5:30 p.m.

The MS boys basketball team added two more games in the win column last week.

During their first home game of the season, the Panthers showed great sportsmanship and teamwork playing Big Rapids Crossword Academy as everyone played and everyone scored. 

Kyrce Cook, Chance Dockery, Pierre Johnson and Jayden Powers were the top scorers. On Saturday, the Panthers traveled to Walkerville to secure their second win of the week, beating the Wildcats 49-10. Dockery, Johnson and Cook led the team in scoring. Michael Slone played an outstanding offensive and defensive game, co-coach Yvonne Williams said.
