BALDWIN — Baldwin’s junior high track teams were scheduled to wrap up their season in West Michigan D League action on Wednesday.

Jheresa Lewis and Abe Williams have been coaching the team, which has been competing in various jamborees during the spring with various practice sessions.

Tatyana Dukes has been a strong sprinter for Baldwin. Long jump has featured Kiera Barker and Maria Sowle.

“Our relay teams have been coming in first and second all year,” Williams said, referring to the 400, 800 and 1,600. “One of the surprises I’ve had is (Mya) Lewis in the 400 run.”

For the boys, Blake Dockery has excelled in the long jump and 100, Ahmad Goran has had a good season in the high jump and Armando Jennings in the shot put.

“He’s been coming in first all year,” Williams said of Jennings. “Emmanuel Williams, it’s the first time he’s run track and he’s been a real surprise in the events he’s been in.”
