BALDWIN - Jenna Johnson ended her volleyball career at Baldwin by garnering first-team all-conference honors from the West Michigan D League.

The Panthers season ended with a 3-1 loss to Crossroads on Nov. 6 in Division 4 volleyball district action.

"I honestly couldn't ask for anything more from Jenna," Roberts said after the loss to Crossroads. "She's our first player since 2014 to be awarded first-team all-conference. It's at all-around and mostly as a setter."

Roberts graduates Johnson as the only senior who leaves huge shoes to fill. But he likes the number of girls coming up from various levels such as the junior high.

Johnson said it was "sad" to lose to Crossroads. The Panthers won the first game before losing the next three. The key was "good communication and backing each other up," in the first game, she said, adding in the last three "we were not focusing."

It was her fourth season of volleyball. She was uncertain of her basketball status this winter. Baldwin will only have a junior varsity girls team. Johnson played JV boys basketball last winter when the girls did not have enough numbers for any basketball team.
