BALDWIN — Armondo Jennings always stood as a formidable presence on the field for the Baldwin football team.

He’s not doing that bad of a job either on the basketball court.

Jennings has helped the Panther basketball squad to a 4-0 start.

“The key has been getting the ball around to open shots,” he said.

Jennings has been a starter and said his role is to be a rebounder and take the open shots.

“I’m playing all right,” he said, last Thursday after the Brethren game. “I rolled my ankle a couple of games ago. I’m recovering from that.”

Jennings indicated he’s played well in key games. He’s been providing some offense. He acknowledged that he’s trying to establish himself inside against opponents and not let them take control of that area of the floor.

“I’m playing tougher and tougher every game,” he said.

Jennings indicated the wide-open 3-pointer is a strong shot.

“I’ve been working during the offseason on my threes,” he said.

Jennings is looking for the Panthers to win the conference and have a long postseason run.
