Baldwin bowlers having success

BIG RAPIDS – Baldwinbowled at the BR Bowling Center on Monday.

Coach Duane Roberts said Donnie Harris and Lucas Fraser and Josh Taylor have joined the team lately.

On Saturday, Baldwin boys took all 30 points against Crossroads at the BR Lanes.

“On Saturday, we bowled Baker scores of 103 and 157,” Roberts said. “We had an 1,180 pin count and (Monday) our Bakers were a 160 and a 162. There’s a lot of growth even from Saturday. So far we have taken every point.”

Leading the Baldwin boys is Jake Cutler, the team’s senior and anchor bowler, and Kyan Cowell. Blake Anderson is also on the varsity as a junior.

“The boys are doing pretty solid,” Robert said. “I am proud of them. The girls are doing pretty well so far. They have won their Bakers and their points as well against Mason County Eastern (on Monday). It’s going to be challenging dealing with a younger team compared to a team we had in the past for girls and guys.”

The boys bowled Manistee Catholic Central for a win on Monday.

Crossroads girls beat Baldwin on Saturday.

"On both dates, we saw that the boys team took all 30 points from their opponents," Roberts said. "On Saturday it was Crossroads Charter Academy, on Monday that was Manistee Catholic Central. Currently, the guys are working from a point deficit to first place which is currently held by Mason County Eastern. The girls Team took 25 points on Monday and surrendered only five points to Mason County Eastern.
