BALDWIN – SJ Hossler finished a strong cross country season for Baldwin  on Saturday at Buckley in Division 4 by taking 39th place in 19:39.80.9.

Also for Baldwin Evan Wogatzke was 60th (30:59.30)

This was Hossler’s first year out for cross country. He said went out for cross to get into shape for basketball. He’s a junior. His regional time was a personal record. He raced in three West Michigan D League races. He was 15th in his first one in 20:52.0, 17th in his second race in 23:04.8 and 14th in his third one in 20:14.0.

It was his only fall sport.

It’s going good,” he said during the season. “I’ve been cutting my times since the season started.”

Hossler said his race strategy “is to go at my own pace and pick them off one by one.”

Hossler said he didn’t necessarily go out running every day but would do so as often as possible. There were a couple of other runners on the team and they would work together Hossler indicated.

“I believe my start is my strength,” he said.

Hossler said the competition was pushing him effectively.
