BALDWIN -- Girls basketball practices are set to start on Monday but for the second straight year it appears Baldwin will not have a varsity team.

Athletic director/superintendent Rick Heitmeyer released the schedule for the 2019-20 season with a JV girls season set to start on Dec. 6 with a home game against Pentwater.

There was neither a JV or varsity team last season. Only four girls showed up for workouts last year and Baldwin officials said they would try to reboot the program, starting with a JV team. There is no varsity schedule for this year.

Nikki Bergman was hired during the offseason as head coach and is working at rebuilding the team.

The boys basketball team also has a new varsity coach with JJ Eads formerly of Reed City. The first game is set for Dec 10 at home with Traverse City Christian.

Heitmeyer said the bowling schedule is not available yet.
