Former Baldwin player working with girls team

BALDWIN — A familiar face is back in the Baldwin gym working with the girls basketball program.

Former Panther Alexandra Torres is the varsity assistant and will coach the junior varsity squad if there are enough players for two teams.

After playing at Baldwin, Torres played for Muskegon Community College.

It was actually fun,” she said. “I actually got a lot of playing time.”

She was usually shooting guard and got her share of points.

“It was actually a fun time,” Torres said. “It’s something I’d like everyone to experience.”

She’s a 2012 Baldwin graduate. She lives back at home in Bitely.

She was among Baldwin’s top players during her high school days.

Torres also played and exceled in other sports at Baldwin including track.

Baldwin started practices for girls this week. The season begins after Thanksgiving.
