Football summer program set to start at Baldwin

BALDWIN  —  Football practices will start in early August but the Baldwin Panthers will be getting a busy schedule going this month.

Athletic director Shawn Williams revealed the summer football program, directed by coach Doug Bolles and his staff, that will include weight room and football drills on Monday and Wednesday, starting the week of July 7. It will go through July 23.

Former Baldwin football star Andon Ware will also be available 5-7 p.m. on June 18, June 25 and July 2. Ware, who now plays college football at Notre Dame of Ohio, will focus on high school to college transition.

Also scheduled is a National Guard/NFL football camp June 23-25 at Camp Grayling, plus a 7-on-7 passing league at Mason County Central in July plus a Detroit Lions NFL camp at Evart in early August.

Controlled scrimmages are set for the varsity against Grant, Hesperia and White Cloud and the JVs against Traverse City Christian, with dates and location to be announced later.

Former Panthers will be assisting with the various summer activities Williams indicated, pointing to Phillip Henderson, Juron Johnson, Aaron Houze, Jason Moore and Michael Turner as among the alums making appearances.
