BIG RAPIDS - While the bite slowed when the cold front moved through, it looks like fishing is once again picking back up, the DNR said, adding river fishing for catfish, walleye, bass and freshwater drum continues to improve. Inland lakes are producing a fair to good number of bass, the DNR added.
In Mecosta County, "we've caught some trout, some bass and some walleyes," Tom Vernon of Frank's Sporting Goods in Morley said. "The summer run steelhead are finally starting to make an appearance. They're in fishable numbers now."
