BALDWIN – The Lake County Sportsmans Club continues to work on its trap field at the clubgrounds site.

The clubgrounds are located east of Baldwin off of McKinley Road.

“It needs to be leveled up and cleaned up, and then we have to get the stations over to where we want them,” club member Greg Nichols Sr. said. “You stand at those stations as you shoot. It’s coming pretty good. We’re happy. We’re running a trap machine off a battery. Next week we’ll put in the electrical.”

The club is also getting an archery field set up.

“4-H will use it when we have it finished,” Nichols said. “We’re happy with the progress we’ve made this year.”

The Lake County sheriff’s department uses the club’s pistol range for target practice, he added.
