Carolyn Duddles receives honors
BALDWIN — Carolyn Burrell is perhaps the most recognizable person who works at Baldwin athletic events.
She’s the person fans see taking admission and giving out programs at high school sports events, including football, volleyball and basketball on the varsity, junior varsity and junior high levels.
The CABF alumni all-star basketball classic officials present Burrell with an appreciation award at its game on July 19 at the high school. She’s worked at those games along with Baldwin contests.
Burrell will keep working the games this season, but isn’t sure how much longer. She’s been doing it for 17 years.
“But I like it,” she said.
She’s had daughters including Terri Burrell and Nikki Burrell plus grandchildren who have played Baldwin sports including basketball, softball, volleyball and track.
“I had another daughter who was a cheerleader and another one who didn’t play sports,” Burrell said.
