BALDWIN — The boys football team defeated the girls volleyball team on Nov. 3 at the high school in a special fund-raising event.

It was Community Awareness Night for “Kids Competing Against Cancer.”

Football coach Lee Vickers said his football players, who faced the girls team, had an enjoyable time.

The two teams have had different themes. The football squad has emphasized “tackled cancer” while the girls have the theme of “spike out cancer.”

Baldwin players this year have included, in volleyball, Janay Scales, Alexis Mooney, Riley Drilling, Diamond Cannon, Jenna Johnson, April See, Alene See, Jazalynn Johnson, Marissa Bacon, Alisa Barnard, Katherine Higbee, Mariah Sowle, KeAsijan Palmer, Elexus Pieske, Monica Truxton, Arenna Boatwright and Aja Tate.

Football players have included Ahmad Goram, Malik Pollard, Tyler Clugston, Ryan Kolenbrander, Daniel McCarthy, Blake Dockery, Isiah Defreece, DeShawn Ramus, Demarko Williams, Armondo Jennings, Brad Taylor, Derrick and Dexter Hossler, Palmer Martin, Brandon Vollemer, David Kolenbrander, Lance and LaKie Donald, Darrion Hayter, Kendall Phillips, Darrin Thomas, DiVante Ponder, Daniel Rowland, Matt Byrd, Shawndale Dukes and Deondra McDonald.
