BALDWIN – Baldwin’s boys basketball team continued its summer program with a scrimmage against Morley Stanwood at home last Thursday.

Evart was also scheduled to be at the scrimmage but Panther coach JJ Eads said the Wildcats were not available.

The scrimmage went for 90 minutes.

“Overall, I thought we played better than we did on Monday,” Eads said, referring to a home scrimmage on June 14 against Big Rapids and Pine River. “I thought we moved the ball a little better. We played better on defense. It was good to get the kids out there and play. Morley Stanwood was missing some players so we didn’t see their full team.

“We’ve had a few practices and were doing open gyms in May and practicing under MHSAA rules. Since we’re out of school, our numbers are (higher).”

There were some scrimmages scheduled at Cadillac this week.

“We’ll see how football is doing in July and go from there,” Eads said.
