Beane hoping to play his best basketball in final games of season

BALDWIN — Brandon Beane is a Baldwin senior playing in his final boys basketball games of the season. But Beane is hoping his prep basketball career will last at least a few more weeks.

The district tournament started this week at Manistee Catholic Central.

“It’s going pretty well,” he said adding that among his best games this season were against Crossroads, Pentwater and Walkerville. “It was all-around. I was helping my team down low, in the paint.”

Getting rebounds and putbacks and being physical in the post has been a strength for Beane.

“We’re not playing our best ball, but we’re getting there,” Beane said. “We’re focusing on districts.”

The Panthers beat Mason County Eastern on Monday night. Baldwin has won three straight district titles.
