Baldwin youth baseball ready to get started

BALDWIN  — Baldwin youth baseball league will be getting started this month.

Seth Hopkins from the Lake County 4-H extension office, announced that T-Ball (5-6), coach-pitch (7-9) and traveling leagues (10-15) were being offered again this spring and summer

“The traveling league is a good one to play in too,” Hopkins said.

There was one travel league baseball team last season and two in 2014.

“We always have the option open for softball,” Hopkins said. “If we field enough kids, we’ll have a travel team for softball, too.”

Youngsters can sign up weekdays at the extension office, 830 Michigan Avenue, Baldwin, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. They can also call at (231) 745-2732, and the information can be sent. It’s $10 for younger divisions and $20 for the older divisions to sign up.

Opening day will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 30. Spring training starts 5:30 p.m. on April 25 and continues to April 27. Individuals can sign up at this time too.
