BALDWIN - The volleyball season will start for Baldwin at home next Tuesday against Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart in nonleague action.

Coach Duane Roberts has been keeping his team busy in practices this week.

"We're still in the gym practicing," Roberts said. "Right now, I'm searching for a JV coach. Our previous coach had to resign due to time commitments. I'm looking for a JV coach."

Nikki Bergman is coaching the junior high team.

Former Baldwin players and captains Jenna and Jas Johnson have been helping out with practices while Roberts continues to rehab from an injury sustained in practice.

"I'm expecting good performances from my returning girls and big step ups from last year with Rachel Carpenter, who is moving up and will play all around," Roberts said. "We'll get attacks from our other girls. Naomi Marsh Robinson is working as our primary setter and an attacker as well."

He's hoping the team will be healthy enough by next Tuesday to have both a JV and varsity match.
