BALDWIN – Baldwin’s boys and girls track teams were scheduled to start their seasons on Wednesday in a West Michigan D League jamboree.

But the jamboree was postponed because of the weather. There was no further information on a makeup date.

The meet was set for Mason County Eastern.

Coach Robert Watkins said he had four girls and six boys on his team.

Asked on Monday who looks strong for him in various event,s Watkins replied: “It’s too early to tell. We lost a sprinter who moved to Detroit. So we have no clue. SJ (Hossler) has the athletic ability to do almost anything. We’ll look to see how he does in long jump or 100.

“Other than that, everyone is equal and we have to see what their niche is. SJ played basketball. Gabe (Vandergel) played football. He’s been working in the weight room at a regulars basis. I’m looking forward to him throwing the shot put and discus.”

The West Michigan D  jamborees will continue throughout the season, followed by regionals in late May.
