BALDWIN - Bre'Indel Watkins is a sophomore who will be in the throws for Baldwin's girls track team this season.

She was hoping to be with the team last year but the season was canceled because of the pandemic.

"It was really disappointing because I wanted to come out," she said. "I'm focusing on throwing good in the shot put and discus."

Practices didn't really start until last week because of a two-week pause Baldwin went through.

"I just want to push myself in trying to get far and use the right technique," Watkins said. "I like the shot put more because I learned it first. This is my first year doing discus."

Watkins also plays basketball although the 2020-21 season got off to a late start because of COVID, and then the season was canceled because of a lack of numbers.

Baldwin was scheduled to start track meets this week.
