BALDWIN — Darrin Thomas has been a fixture at third base for Baldwin’s baseball team, but said the Panthers need to focus on quality practice time to get more wins on its record.

“We are making improvements,” Thomas said after a doubleheader loss to Mason County Eastern on Monday. “I need to work on my batting. I need to stay away from bad pitches.”

Defensively at third base, “I’m doing pretty good,” Thomas said. “My throws are usually pretty good.”

Players have had challenges making practices and games with conflicts with drivers education and other things, coach Duane Roberts noted.

“We need people to show up at a practice so we can learn how to work as a team,” Thomas said.

Baldwin will be home this Thursday vs. Mesick.

Baldwin will be at Brethren on Monday and is at home on May 17 against Marion.
