Baldwin set to have scrimmages this week

Panthers begin play next week

BALDWIN – Baldwin’s boys basketball team continues to make preparation toward its season opener next week.

Coach JJ Eads said the Panthers would be scrimmaging at Tri County on Monday of this week and would be at Evart on Thursday.

The first game is set for Dec. 9 at Pentwater.

Eads said he’ll know more this week if he has enough for a junior varsity team. If he does he will use the five-quarter rule which gives JV players the option to see limited varsity action the same night as they play for the varsity.

Eads said the focus continues to be on fundamentals. There remains challenges on consistency with numbers at practices.

“We’re a little behind from where we need to be,” Eads said.

The first home again is with Marion on Dec. 14 followed by a home game on Dec. 16 with Manistee Catholic Central.
