Baldwin senior excited over season prospects

BALDWIN — Gracie Lemieux is ready for a successful senior softball season at Baldwin.

Lemieux and her teammates started practices inside the Baldwin Elementary School gymnasium with the intent of getting out later this week to take advantage of the seasonable spring weather.

It’s her third year of varsity softball for Baldwin. Lemieux will be playing first base. Last season was a building year for the team.

“So far this year, it’s looking fantastic,” Lemieux said. “I cannot wait to see what the outcome of the season is.”

Lemieux is hoping to improve her hitting.

“I’m highly positive I can make it it 10 times better this year,” she said adding that defensively, the team is looking “pretty strong. So far, it is looking impeccable from last year. It’s a matter of lots of hard work and encouragement.”

Lemieux is coming off a winter bowling season in which she was one of two or three girls that bowled for Baldwin, which did not have a full team.

“I could have gone better,” she said.
