BALDWIN - He's one of a few seniors on the Baldwin football team, but Brad Taylor continues to provide the Panthers with valuable leadership and gridiron contributions.

He's a fullback and linebacker for the Panthers, who won 34-14 over Crossroads Charter Academy on Friday in the Top Cat trophy football game.

"We played a nice defense and had some pushes on offense," Taylor said. He was among the top ground gainers for the Panthers, who are 2-5 overall.

"I try to use my upper body to swing players off me," he said.

Taylor had two touchdowns and an interception against Crossroads. "Good speed and good blocking" keyed his running attack, he said.

He had a 40-yard return on his interception.

"Our season is going well," Taylor said. "I started late and started to get my reps back up."

Baldwin has its home finale this Friday against Brethren. The regular season ends at Onekama on Oct. 25.

"We have to work together, remember how to tackle and get low," he said.
