BALDWIN — Baldwin senior wide receiver-offensive end Brandon Beane was named on Monday to the Associated Press Division 7 and 8 all-state football team.

“This is a tremendous honor and it is our second first-team selection in back-to-back years,” Baldwin coach Doug Bolles said. “It’s very well deserved I might add. He put up record numbers and was our go-to guy on offense.”

Baldwin’s Brandon Childress was an all-state quarterback last season.

Beane, a senior, was a key player for the 4-5 Panthers, who made the playoffs for the fourth straight season.

Beane also was an all-conference wide receiver.

Beane was a four-year starter and team captain.

“He has great hands, runs good routes, and has great speed and size,” Bolles said.

Beane had 41 catches for 824 yards and 11 touchdowns. He averaged 20.1 yards per catch.

“He was doubled covered most of the season and still was our go-to receiver,” Bolles said.

Other wide receivers named to the team were senior Thomas Jackson, of Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett; junior Malik Ellison, of Flint Beecher, and senior Devin Senerius, of Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes.
