BALDWIN — Baldwin’s volleyball team was scheduled to play at Bear Lake this week to open the season.

“Last week we scrimmaged Mesick and lost 3-2,” coach Duane Roberts said. “The girls played great until some attitude adjustments had to be made.”

Baldwin is set to play at the Pentwater Falcon Invitational on Saturday. The Panthers will have home matches on Sept. 19 with Pentwater and on Sept. 21 with Muskegon Heights.

Baldwin plays at Brethren on Sept. 26.

“We won the first two (at Mesick) and lost two of them by two points,” sophomore Jenna Johnson said. “We have only had that one scrimmage.”

Johnson is a spiker.

“I do better in the games,” she said.

Jazlynn Johnson, Jenna’s sister, is a junior and also is on the team for her second season. She plays all positions except setter and indicated serving is her best position.

“I make it a little tough to handle,” she said. “I hit it in a certain spot.”

She’s working on her spiking but said it has to get better in games.
