Baldwin linebacker eyes big game against Evart
BALDWIN — Marty Banks has had a solid year as a linebacker/offensive end for Baldwin’s football team.
But Banks, like the rest of his teammates, has been hungry for a win and is hoping the second triumph of the season will come on Friday when the regular season closes at Evart.
The Panthers are coming off a 29-16 loss to White Cloud last Friday. The Panthers (1-7) had a 16-3 lead in the game, but the Indians were able to rally.
“We were winning at halftime, but after that it fell apart,” Banks said. “I played well. It was my first year on offense. Coach tells me I did good on blocking on my part.”
Banks had a big game earlier this month in Greenville during a 40-14 triumph over North Adams-Jerome. The game at Evart will end the regular season.
“We’re finishing up for our last game,” Banks said. “We’re practicing hard.”
The Panther defense hopes to have a strong game against a productive Evart ground attack.
