Baldwin junior optimistic with volleyball team’s future
BALDWIN — Brittany Bowling is among the Baldwin volleyball players who can’t wait for the postseason to start.
The Panthers are off until the week of Nov. 2 when the Class D districts take place.
Baldwin was fourth at last weekend’s West Michigan D Conference tournament and gave Big Rapids Crossroads a strong run in the semifinals before losing.
Bowling a junior, acknowledged that a 3-0 loss to Pentwater recently at home in the final West Michigan D League match of the season wasn’t a banner evening for the Panthers.
“We’ve had better nights,” she said.
But two days later, the Panthers had an impressive performance at the league tourney.
“We have to work and not get ourselves down,” she said. “We do have good spikes, but I think that passing we’ve gotten down better.”
The team has improved, but in the home finale, Bowling mentioned what the key would be to have success Saturday: “just try to stay happy and stay motivated.”
Bowling will be in the sport of bowling later this winter but is hoping the volleyball season will extend for awhile.
