BALDWIN — Baldwin's junior high football team got off to a winning start on Sept. 13 with a 24-23 edging of Mesick.

Carmello Lindsey had most of Baldwin's yards, Panther coach Rusty Fullerton said.

Karlito McKenzie led the defense. Jesse Penthio led the defensive line.

The game was close from start to finish.

“It was a nailbiter, but we squeezed it out,” Fullerton said.

Baldwin was scheduled to play on Wednesday night against Charlton Heston Academy. Baldwin will also play Bear Lake on Sept. 27, Charlton Heston on Oct 4, Brethren on Oct. 11 and Grand Traverse on Oct. 18. The site of those games will be announced later.
