Baldwin junior high football team improves to 6-0
BALDWIN — Baldwin’s junior high football team improved to 6-0 with an 8-player 30-6 win on Wednesday over Grand Traverse Christian Academy.
Coaches for the junior high team were Robert Watkins, Harold Nichols, Kurt Olsen, Fred Wheetley and Dave Daegen.
“We played them the first game of the season and won 14-6,” Watkins said. “The second game, they came out real strong.”
The Panthers had two scores from Lavonte Palmer and Anthony Hibma.
Jesse Pacino caught a two-point conversion.
Grand Traverse Christian scored in the fourth quarter on a kickoff return.
“We missed a couple of tackles,” Watkins said.
This was the last game of the season for the junior high.
“It was a good night to be able to do well in front of our fans,” Watkins said.
