BALDWIN — The Baldwin junior high boys basketball team played at home on Monday against Crossroads Charter Academy with the A and B teams both winning.

The B team won 27-10. The A team took a 53-7 verdict.

David Lee led the B team with 16 points.

“We played very sound man-to-man defense, which helped to extend our lead,” Baldwin coach Rob Atwood said. “We pressed in the second half which extended our lead. The A team was led by Carmello Anthony and Aveon Hobbs. Both had 19 points. We were up 38-1 at halftime during the A game. We got off to a quick start and got a lot of buckets off our defense.

“It was the best man-to-man defense I’ve seen in some time as a head coach. I was very pleased.”

Both teams are 2-0 and played at Walkerville on Wednesday.

The Panthers are home with Brethren on Saturday.
