BALDWIN — Baldwin’s baseball team is hoping to get in its first game of the season very soon.

But it’s going to depend on the weather.

Coach Rob Atwood said on Monday his team is scheduled to play at Brethren on Thursday but only if Brethren’s facility would be available.

“We’ll probably be indoors the rest of the week,” Atwood said. “On Thursday, they’re calling for rain.”

Atwood anticipates there will be a lot of games played for the rest of the season to get all the games in.

This means Atwood will be using a lot of pitching arms. He indicated he’s looking for several players to be ready to pitch.

Ryan Kolenbrander, Spencer Sabin, Derrick and Dexter Hossler, DeMarko Williams and Ian Lemieux will be pitching. All but Lemieux, a freshman, have had previous varsity experience. Sabin is the only left-hander. Atwood indicated the pitchers have been able to work on their craft in the gym.
