BALDWIN — Flipstar Gymnastics Center competed with around 1,500 competitors at the Cereal City Classic meet at Kellogg Arena last weekend.

“We had four Xcel Platinum competitors at this meet that brought home the fourth-place team award with a score of 107.85 in a very close team race, less than one point away from first place,” coach Aimee Goff said. Kiela Brooks (of Baldwin) had two podium finishes with second place on both vault (9.075) and floor exercise (9.3).”

Flipstar had five gymnasts compete in the Xcel Gold division.

“This was another great meet for us” Goff said. “It was a big meet that gave us some good insight as to what to expect at our state meet including tough judging and competition. They brought home 35 out of a possible 45 awards including seven all-around plaques. I am so proud of these girls and how well they did.

"They continue to show improvement and a coach couldn’t ask for more than that. We will be traveling to the other side of the state for a meet at Eastern Michigan University and another in Brighton in March to gear up for state meets in April.”
