BALDWIN — Baldwin’s softball team celebrated its first win of the season with a 13-8 verdict over Walkerville on Monday in West Michigan D League action.

The second game was not completed because of darkness and weather conditions.

The twinbill was conducted at the Baldwin softball diamonds.

Baldwin coach Abby Braidwood was pleased with various facets of her team’s performances.

“Kylee Montgomery had a couple of nice hits,” Braidwood said.

Cierra Pieske was the winning pitcher.

“We had good pitching and had good defense,” Braidwood said. “All-around, we did a good job.”

The Panthers are scheduled to play at MCE on May 6, at home with Mesick on May 9, at Brethren on May 13 and at Bear Lake on May 20.
