BALDWIN – Baldwin’s volleyball team opened its season on Thursday with a 25-6, 25-17, 25-22 nonleague loss at home to White Cloud.

Baldwin coach Duane Roberts was pleased with his team’s performance.

Baldwin led throughout the third match but White Cloud came back for the win.

“We see a lot of room to work on,” Roberts said. “All of the girls made big strides from last year.”

Aariona Burrell had a strong day of receiving and digging, Roberts noted. Naomi Marsh Robinson led the team in kills, attacks and defense. Lejla Haznederavic has been agile on the court, Roberts said. Krista Simmons led in blocks. Kelsey Hayter is a first-year starter. Autumn Heighton was at libero. Daisy Simmons also had a strong all-around game along with Abigail Oisten.

Baldwin will play at White Cloud on Thursday.
