Baldwin girls fall to Walkerville

BALDWIN — Baldwin’s girls’ basketball team fell to 0-5 on Monday with a 70-35 West Michigan D League loss to Walkerville in West Michigan D action.

Walkerville was up 14-8 after the first quarter, 35-16 at halftime and 51-24 after the third quarter.

Alex Torres led the Panthers with 16 points and seven rebounds. She shot 7-of-22 from the floor.

Marissa Kelly was 6-of-17 from the floor for 35 percent and scored 12 points. Brittney Grant had six rebounds.

The Panthers were 16-of-56 from the floor for 29 percent.

On Friday, the Panthers lost at home 60-22 to Mason County Eastern from Custer. The Cardinals now have a 6-1 record

Baldwin trailed 24-6 after the first quarter, 35-10 at halftime and 54-13 after the third quarter.

Torres had 17 points and 10 rebounds. Baldwin was 10-of-47 from the floor for 21 percent.
