Baldwin defensive back looks ahead

BALDWIN - The 2019 football season has ended but Baldwin players like Mason Pieske can't wait for next year.

Pieske was a sophomore safety for the Panthers.

"It's been going good," he said. "We've struggled."

Baldwin had wins over Bear Lake and Crossroads, but finished at 2-7. The Panthers were 0-9 the previous season.

"I feel like we've been handling our ground on defense.

Pieske has been confident in his tackling abilities and has had various pass breakups.

"You have to read the quarterback and watch for your receiver," Pieske said. "We've made huge progress (since the beginning of the season). We have to practice hard and show up every day."

Baldwin dropped the season finale to Onekama 59-0.
